BLOG #03 Power on Earth – Youth in space
C:E:T platform BLOG, Release No. 1 by Tamara Petrović
Given that there is tricky connection between (physical, mental, experiental) strength as a “bling bling” on youngsters, and (real, XXI-century-in-the-west) power, I will pin some spots in the soft map of young people’s concerns, intentionally.
Economy teaches us that working force is best while being 25, and then – more driven, more ready to risk, to learn, to work, and eventually die. But, with the unemployment rate that is at its peak in many European countries, where does in the universe that fresh energy go? What do young people do while containing hopes and expectations, becoming more knowledgeable, skilled and competent out of boredom cause there’s nothing else to do? Are those in power responsible for unused atoms of pure force?
Our youth is strong, that’s why we need to feed it with theory, spiced with illusions. Employ yourself might be the truth, but there’s no one to believe it. Cause reality is a mother and father. Diploma, MA, PhD – P iece of paper – piece of cake. In tha face.
Many, many, many frustrated people over here are waiting to get a job. “To get” means that someone else is to give it…
I assume that “to take” is quicker that previous one. And maybe not so comfortable, but young people have nothing but themselves, all packed in around 75 kilos of flesh and blood. Independence is something to be conquered, not given. Cruel world, but it is as it is.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.” Steve Jobs
